This lot is for two pieces of Louisville's Historic Vienna Restaurant. One is a Platter and the other a small Sauce Pitcher. The platter shows various seafood with a wonderful red shrimp in the center and nicely emblazoned with The Vienna Logo. Marked New York - Bauscher - Weiden (Germany) 1910 on the rear. The platter measures about 11-inches long X 7-inches wide. The small Sauce Pitcher is emblazoned with the wording "The Vienna" on the front and Bauscher China, Arthur Schiller and Son, Chicago 1921, Made in Germany on the bottom. It measures about 3-inches tall and 2-inches at the widest part of the oval base. Built in 1893 The Vienna Restaurant was one of the city's most elegant dining facilities. It was owned by Frank Erpeldinger, a native of Vienna, Austria and was host to most every famous and infamous Louisville visitor over the years of its existence. It was destroyed by fire in 1959. This lot comes with several pages of copied historical research regarding The Vienna. Reserve/Starting Bid is $20.
