MIDWEST CITY ESTATE SALE

The estate of the late Mayor Marion "M.C." & Mrs. Gyneth Reed.
(Mr. Reed was mayor of Midwest City for a total of twenty-three years;
his son, Eddie Reed, was subsequently mayor for twelve years.
The Reeds were prominent members of the Midwest City community.
The Reed Center was endowed by the family and named in their honor.)


The Midwest City estate sale will include several pieces of Heywood-Wakefield furniture from what appears to be HW's "Ashcraft" line;
a fruitwood finish china cabinet (lighted); an oak finish china cabinet (also lighted);
a fruitwood finish dining suite with a marquetry top and six chairs;
assorted pieces of Fostoria crystal in the "American" and "Baroque" patterns;
an assemblage of ornate Brown-Jordan wrought iron patio furniture ca. 1955-60;
Frankoma pottery dinnerware; assorted prints and paintings;
a fun "tutti frutti" palette glazed chintz sofa ca. 1960-65; a partial bedroom suite by Thomasville, in the Chinese style;
assorted mahogany and oak tables and chairs; an ornate, Chippendale-style mahogany coffee table with a glass inset;
a mahogany dining suite ca. 1940-50 in the Sheraton (popularly called "Duncan Phyfe") style, with needlepoint seats on all the chairs;
books (many Oklahoma and military-related); an oak potato bin from Frederick, Indian Territory ca. 1890-1900;
linens; a very full garage; lawn and garden items; a concrete patio set; seashells; a stainless steel grill;
a round, stained glass panel; stereo equipment; china; kitchen items; costume jewelry;
purses; blonde bedroom furniture ca. 1950-55; much more.

If coming from the west (Oklahoma City etc.),
take the northbound Tinker/Air Depot exit (Exit 157B).
Follow Air Depot north one mile to 15th Street, then turn east.
Follow 15th Street all the way to Felix Place (just look for St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church).
Turn south onto Felix Place and follow it all the way to the end of the street
(i.e., corner of Felix Place and Marshall). Turn left/east onto Marshall.
The house sits on the corner of Marshall & Atkinson Drive; its garage door faces westward.
(n.b.: There will be ample signage on sale day.)

Please park legally and courteously, as a police officer will be on site at all times.
Checks will be accepted only with proper identification.
We cooperate fully with the Oklahoma County District Attorney in the prosecution of those who write bad checks.
Returned check fee of $40.00.
Sealed bids will be collected at the cashier's desk throughout Saturday,
but only on those items priced $100.00 and up.
Bids will be called after the close of business on the first day (Saturday).
All items must be removed from the premises no later than Sunday, 16 October.
Each dealer or eligible, disabled veteran must submit a photocopy of
his or her valid tax exemption certificate, else sales tax of 8.35% will be charged.
No large purses, please. No unattended children, please.
Outside "sold" signs will not be honored and will be promptly discarded.
We will have a large "sold" table on site for your convenience; however,
please be advised that you will be obligated to purchase all items you place on the "sold" table(s),
carry for more than five minutes or have had marked "sold."
We do not wrap, haul or deliver -- please do not ask.
