S O S Estate Sales LLC is a unique estate sale company. We only hold estate sales for Seniors over 65 or those who lose a loved one. This is our niche and we do A-Z for those who need our services. We hold the estate sale, offer cleanout services and then we can list and sell the real estate as well. Many of our team members are licensed Realtors. We work closely with Geriatric Care Managers, Estate/Probate Attorneys, Funeral Homes, Hospice and other Realtors.
We also own S O S Estate/Resale store in Skokie, IL. We take in goods from Seniors who live in condominiums who won't allow estate sales or goods from those who lost a loved one. Also, many times there are not enough goods to hold an estate sale and we provide another option to sell the goods in our store when space is permitting at our discrection.
We also offer cleanouts for those who don't have enough goods to hold an estate sale. We organize and delegate to have other services in either to donate the goods, buyout the goods or junk the goods. We facilitate the entire day and make sure the home or condo is totally emptied out without any worries and without you spending your time and energy trying to do what we do in 1 day!

I would like to take this opportunity to let people know how happy I was with the services provided by SOS Estate Sales. I contacted Sheryl in mid-October, after my aunt passed away, as to having SOS perform an estate sale in my aunt's home. After having other estate sale services tell me they could not conduct the sale until after the new year, I was extremely pleased that SOS could do the sale before Thanksgiving! Sheryl came in, organized items in a visually appealing manner, and had items priced in a manner that would help them sell quickly. The best part of the service, however, came after the sale, when Sheryl arranged for a charity to come in and pick up the usuable unsold items, and then had a disposal service arrive the next day to clean out the rest of the home. This was very beneficial as my aunt's niece, who inherited the home, already had a tenant lined up to rent the home effective December 1. Having such a quick turnaround made things so much easier for us! It is also nice to know that Sheryl is also a licensed realtor, and would have been available to list the home for sale if this were something that we needed. Hi Sheryl, I was at the Park Ridge sale this afternoon (9/25/11) and purchased two oak chairs and the accordian. There was a bit of laughing going on with a woman who was looking at a beautiful doll with a leg problem. You were trying to get the customer to send the doll to the 'doll hospital' or to your relative who makes prosthesis. And then, I got totally intrigued with you running my charge on your phone. Later on I realized you didn’t charge me for a few other items I had taken from the garage. I want to make good on those items, so please send me your address so I can mail a check to you or you can run another charge through. I had a great time at your sale. I love attending estate sales I can say very honestly that some of the individuals conducting the sales are just downright surly. Not you! You're just downright entertaining. When I was referred to Sheryl Rue-Borden by my cousin, she came into my life at a time when I was feeling very sad after my mother had recently passed away. My father had passed away several years before so now my brother and I were left with a 55 year old house to clean up and sell. My mother was pack rat, a collector and an accomplished artist. She left behind numerous pieces of her own artwork such as stones, clays, bronzes, metals and wood sculptures. She also had lots of other people's artwork hanging on the walls and artistically placed throughout the house. My mom loved to shop for bargains and always kept gifts on hand in the house for all occasions. After she passed away, the daunting task to clean out this old, cluttered house was immensely overwhelming and I didn't know how I was going to accomplish it. It looked like an indoor flee market with stuff and treasures strewn everywhere. When I first met Sheryl, she came into the house with a big smile and assured me that she would have no trouble cleaning out the house and getting it ready for an estate sale. I couldn't believe all she said she would do for us! It sounded too good to be true. I asked her for references and I did call them. She got high praise from everyone I talked to. I asked about a contract to sign but Sheryl said her word is her bond and she operates with a handshake based on mutual trust. I had nothing to lose and everything to gain so we set up dates to hold the estate sale. Sheryl and her crew did exactly what she said she would do and more! She advertised heavily for the 2-day estate sale and it was well attended both days. She sold my mom's 14 year old car and several pieces of her artwork too. After the sale, within 1 day, anything left over was either donated, picked up as junk or brought to her retail store for resale. All of the clutter was gone and the house was empty. I didn't have to do one thing! Sheryl has an unbelievable work ethic and works harder than anyone I know. She has such a positive outlook on life and was a pleasure to work with. My parents must have been looking down on my brother and me because they sent an angel in the form of Sheryl Rue-Borden to help us prepare the house to be sold so we could both move on with our lives. Sheryl has been very good to my veteran kitchen box project – by donating kitchen goods for the boxes. (Helping Our Heroes has helped homeless veterans who receive Section 8 vouchers by paying the security deposit so the vet can get into housing). I started a program making up kitchen boxes with basic necessities so the newly housed vet can at least heat up some soup or cook something. While there turned out to be less than you oringinally had seen, you promised it would be a successful one day sale. I had my doubts, but the way you and your crew worked, you made it happen. Your rules are strict, and that is good, I realize deviation from them invites turmoil. The night before the sale, I went to retrieve the mail, and could not believe the transformation.
