This weekend's Estate Sale will be south-of-Ventura Boulevard off Hayvenhurst Avenue in the hills of Encino -- located on a cul-de-sac where there should be plenty of parking.
The Lady of the estate was a well respected artist - a student of Franklin Leigel, a well known artist and teacher at Otis Art Institute. She was a fashion and dress designer, and dressmaker.
The entire contents of her estate will be sold this weekend.
This includes: a gorgeous, solid wood (1 inch thick) - hand curved and painted, Asian design - large folding room divider/screen bought from Glabman’s Furniture Store. The size of the divider-screen is 132 inches across, when fully open – with six panels, 22 inches for each one). It is eight feet tall. There will also be an antique desk with side drawers, a twisted leg planter with white-and-blue antique tiles, an art deco bed, and a marble top game/coffee table with chairs. Additionally, there is a pair of large ruby-red hand-cut crystal lamps, wall mirrors, porcelain table lamps, metal Art Deco and Modern chandeliers, as well as crystal chandeliers. Also for sale will be Persian and Karastan rugs, as well as jewelry and watches. Wonderful Art pieces, an African statue, crystals, picture frames, vintage suitcases, and wonderful collections of: thimbles, figurines – Lladro, Royal Dolton, Royal Copenhagen, Val St Lambert, Hamel, etc.
There are also wonderful masks, Noritake China and glasses, Nippon, Mikasa, Fostoria (glasses), a large Delft wall plate, pottery, and baskets. And again, lots of Art, knitting and sewing books, as well as collectable magazines on all of the above. In reference to collectables, you will find many 1880’s – 1900’s First Edition books … and records (LPs), of which there are approximately 200 – as well as many audio and video electronics, and baskets.
The owner of the estate traveled frequently and we have – for sale – her personal collection of authentic kimonos, ethnic wear, vintage textiles, fabrics, silks, knits - from Japan, Hong Kong, Europe, Central and South America, India and Pakistan. As well as her personal collection of fine knits, laces, wools, yarns, threads, etc.
Suffice to say, this Estate Sale has lots of clothes, many from well-known designers, including: Giorgio Armani, Ted Lapidus, Anne Klein, and specially designed garments from Beverly Hills tailors, as well as great hats, purses, a collection of designer’s shoes, leather and fur jackets, wool and silk suits, doilies, tablecloths, etc. Many of which were purchased from: Saks Fifth Avenue, Bullocks Wilshire, I. Some of what will be sold this weekend will include the owner’s textiles, silks, knits, laces, wools, yarns, threads, etc., uncompleted works of fashion art, mannequins, knitting and sewing tools, and other accessories.
There is a large studio in the house that has lots of art and painting accessories, supplies, sewing and knitting supplies and tools, drawings, fashion schematics, Art prints, plates and more.
The kitchen is also full of stuff: pots, pans, accessories, appliances, silverware, flatware, dishes, plates, glasses, etc.
There is also a gas laundry washing machine (Whirlpool Model WTW 579OVO2 – almost new) and an older drying machine (Sears, Lady Kenmore) for sale. The patio has flowers and pots, etc. Additionally, a

A reminder:
We do not allow guests to enter the estate with purses. For this, there are no exceptions (except for those purses that are very small ... similar to a wallet).

If you plan on purchasing items that require a truck or a moving van, please make prior arrangements.
And something more:
We do not do pre-sales, nor do we provide prices prior to the sale.
We sell on a “First come, first serve” basis.
We look forward to seeing you this weekend. Bring your highest expectations, an adventurous heart, and your smile.
Thank you,
Alla
